Elite Sports Medicine Sports Emergency Clinic

Our professional sports health care team at Elite Sports Medicine are US board certified health care professionals. We offer the highest level of sports injury care in the Bahamas for youth athletes, professional athletes and even the weekend warriors.

When preventative measures do not work such as taping and bracing and proper conditioning and athletes get injured, we are able to return athletes to the playing field in less time after an injury by implementing aggressive yet safe treatment protocols. Additionally, we maintain (as much as possible) the athlete’s physical fitness level while injured, so that the risk of re-injury is reduced, and their performance level does not decline as much when they return to play.

We provide a variety of different  services at the clinic, including:

  • Walk-in Emergency Sports Injury Clinic
  • Injury Prevention
  • Acute/Chronic Injury Treatment
  • Injury Rehabilitation
  • Sideline Game Medical Coverage
  • Taping/Bracing

Common Injuries in Sports

From child athletes and weekend warriors to highly-trained professional athletes, there’s always a chance of injury.

Importance of Pre-Participation Physical Exams

A PPE is a medical exam done prior to the start of an athletic season.  The exam is meant to identify medical and orthopedic conditions that may require further evaluation and treatment before participation, including physical therapy for existing injuries.

Athletic Trainers and Why You Need One

Having an athletic trainer can ensure proper care of athletes, proper referrals to appropriate physicians and rehabilitation for injuries.  Athletic trainers work with players day-to-day on injury care and prevention, building a level of trust. It’s this trust that carries throughout the season with the coach, parent and athletic trainer to ensure proper care when an emergency situation occurs.
